Drink or not to drink

Drinking means…

You drink? Do you? This spiky question just happen to leave some kind of mark on your persona. Good or bad, depends on who is asking.  But the following attitudes toward you would be pre-made based on your words, more rigorous in case of ‘inaccurate’ response. Well, let’s say, not counted-in response. Totally subjective, absurd but really hit a big point about you… as a test question: If you say “yes”- you are an alcoholic, or living recklessly, or thoughtless, or just silly and weak; If you say “no”- you are too serious, or too religious, or too full of yourself, or have no self control, and therefore, unlikely to be trusted.  Either “yes” or “no” both responses could be wrongly taken. Ironically, no need to guess how tightly the RESPECT is aligned with drinking.

Generally speaking, drinking is one of the most striking ways – pressing the guards down –  to learn about a person; when self-control guards are down, body language becomes more revealing, everything that was and is in your mind – kept silently – coming out in loud. On the other hand, if you are not drinking then you are more likely to leave that skeptic, doubtful impression of a man/woman that cannot be trusted. Personally, I GO with the 1st OPTION, and so far choosing this ‘join to drink’ motto at the business meeting I’ve got more chances to be trusted; freely use an eye contact with all. Helps A LOT with networking…yeah, there is a sober line that should not be passed, just saying, otherwise playing with alcohol tolerance wipe out chances to be picked for drinking again.

Surprising to know how our responses are understood by others. So watch out for who is asking you.

And how come drinking- any drink- tackle certain stereotypes?  Well, could bet, might be a part of this tendency – abuse what we love. Ahem, no offence to us humans. Know the limit, perhaps cliché to say. Like eating a cake: one piece would be enough to get happy… but if you eat the whole cake (8 portions) you are more likely to suffer from sugar-crash side effect.

NO JOKE, its hard to keep the limit. Heath issues and overweigh concerns not bothering me, yet,… thanks to blah blah… but I still have my moments when I cant stop eating something fatty or sweet. SO, I can easily understand this ‘over limit’ issue. And when it comes to the red line with drinking, it could be way harder to stop – statistics shows, aaand here comes the science without a graph, the findings of public research shows: the alcohol abuse worldwide is a Global concern. Not sure how this statistics were collected, guess by the number of sold liquor ( including beer) in a year, but could confirm, relying own experience of seeing what favour is given to alcohol in many cultures, this google-found statistics are correct: “alcohol abuse is a global concern”… unlikely would change.

Alcohol consumption was, is, and always be there, ever since alcohol considered as one of the most addictive substances, and play a big role at the country’s government profit. Basically, high demand pulls the non-stop supply. Economically speaking. Here you go, alcohol production will never be stopped and if someone disagree with that, pointing out on heath concerns, then this phrase perfectly fits in here (Russian aphorism) : спасение утопающих — дело рук самих утопающих (rescuing drowning man is the work of the drowning man).

спасение утопающих— дело рук самих утопающих (spasenie utopayshih – delo ruk samih utopayshih)

Alcohol censure in the movie, does it help?Maybe… Sure need to see statistics of its efficiency!
